Kwak Yoon-ki recently took to social media to share a video of his tattoo removal journey. The footage shows him undergoing laser treatments to remove tattoos from his arms and back. “I’ve been removing my tattoos for three years now,” he revealed, adding, “I thought tattoos were cool when I was younger.”

Because tattoo ink is injected deep into the dermis rather than just the surface of the skin, it doesn’t disappear naturally. Removing them requires multiple laser sessions, which are both time-consuming and incredibly painful.
Kwak Yoon-ki shared his current perspective, saying, “Personally, I think natural skin is the coolest. It’s even better if you have a body toned through exercise. Please don’t get tattoos. Absolutely not.”
However, he is still undecided about the Olympic rings and Taegeukgi tattoos that symbolize his time as a national athlete, asking his fans for their advice.
“My mom said she wanted to see my clean body again”… Nana’s confession. Nana opened up about why she got full-body tattoos and what eventually led her to decide to remove them.
Appearing on the YouTube channel ‘Cho Hyun-ah’s Thursday Night’ in August 2023, Nana mentioned she is in the process of removing her tattoos. She explained, “My mom carefully asked me if she could see my clean body again. Since my mom had given me permission to get the tattoos in the first place, I happily thought, ‘I can just erase them.'”

Nana revealed that she kept one tattoo: the number ‘1968’ on her ankle. She explained, “That’s the year my mom was born. I’m keeping that one for now.”
Reflecting on the experience, Nana said, “I think I overcame bad emotions by focusing entirely on the tattoos and the pain that came with them.” She warned others, “It’s much more painful when you remove them. I hope people are very careful before getting them.”
“Dad has this too”… Yoon Nam-gi decides to erase his tattoos after a comment from his daughter. Yoon Nam-gi revealed that a single remark from his daughter, Ri-eun, prompted his decision to remove his tattoos.

He mentioned a time when his daughter saw the anchor tattoo on his ankle and said, “You look like a pirate.” He noted, “Tattoos aren’t necessarily bad, but it was a feeling that was hard to explain.”
After consulting a professional, Yoon Nam-gi admitted, “I think I understand why people give up on removing tattoos. If you want them gone quickly, it costs a lot, and if you do it slowly, it takes a long time.” He added that he has five small tattoos and estimates it will take about three years to remove them all.
In a YouTube video released in January titled ‘The Most Painful Pain in the World,’ Yoon Nam-gi showed the actual removal process. He remarked, “Removing a tattoo takes ten times the effort compared to getting one. The same goes for the cost and the time.”
