Actor Na Hyun-woo has officially been cast in the title role of the musical ‘Dear Evan Hansen’! Fans are already buzzing with anticipation, thanks to his delicate acting skills and his title as a ‘Double Casting’ winner.
The musical ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ (hosted by Clip Service, produced by S&Co, with producers Seol Do-kwon and Shin Dong-won) is a poignant work that explores relationships and emotions in modern society through the story of a boy longing for connection while struggling with anxiety and isolation.
Na Hyun-woo will portray the shy loner Evan Hansen, who writes letters to himself every day and dreams of a wonderful day where he can truly be himself.
During the tvN ‘Double Casting’ competition, Na Hyun-woo earned high praise for personally translating the lyrics of ‘Waving Through a Window’—a song that hadn’t been performed on a Korean stage at the time. This makes fans even more curious about his unique take on Evan Hansen.

Ahead of the opening, Na Hyun-woo shared his excitement: “It is a new feeling to be on stage with ‘Dear Evan Hansen,’ a work that is very meaningful to me. I’m quite nervous and excited, but I’m preparing hard to show you my best. Please give me lots of interest and love. I’ll be waiting to meet you at the theater. We are not alone!”
Na Hyun-woo has built a solid career through various works, including the musical ‘Werther’ and dramas such as ‘Lost’, ‘Green Mothers’ Club’, ‘The Secret Romantic Guesthouse’, and ‘Love in the Big City’. Since this is his first musical appearance in six years since ‘Werther’ in 2020, all eyes are on how he will utilize his stable acting skills in this new role.
The musical ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ starring Na Hyun-woo opens on August 1 at the Chungmu Art Center Grand Theater.
