Actress Kim Bin-woo is under fire for showing a lack of awareness regarding the sensitive social issue of inter-floor noise.
Not only did she do something completely outside the realm of common sense by singing into a microphone in an apartment late at night, but her arrogant response—claiming it was fine because she lives on the first floor—has sparked public outrage.
On the 11th, Kim Bin-woo posted an apology on her SNS, stating, “I am reflecting deeply on my short-sightedness. I will be careful.” However, the damage has already been done.

The controversy began during a TikTok live broadcast. In the video, nearly 1 AM, Kim Bin-woo was seen dancing and singing to club music under flashy mirror ball lights. It was a display of “room madness” that completely ignored the nature of living in a shared apartment complex.
What was even worse was her reaction. When a viewer asked with concern if she was in an apartment, Kim Bin-woo confidently replied, “I’m on the first floor, you know?” This comment showed a complete lack of basic knowledge, as noise travels diagonally and even to upper floors through pillars and walls. Furthermore, claims emerged that fans defending Kim Bin-woo muted or forcibly removed viewers who pointed out the noise, turning the situation into a “power trip” controversy.
There are continuous cases where celebrities’ SNS activities become a source of pain for their neighbors. While Ki Eun-se was criticized for pushing through excessive construction for her personal taste at the expense of her neighbors’ peace, Kim Bin-woo violated the rights of neighbors who should have been sleeping, all in the name of “real-time communication.”
The common thread here is a “lack of empathy.” Intoxicated by the glamour on screen and the cheers of fans, they seem oblivious to the suffering of neighbors just a wall away. Kim Bin-woo’s logic that “it’s okay because it’s the first floor” clearly demonstrates a lack of community spirit.
Although Kim Bin-woo eventually apologized as the controversy spread, it seems insufficient to turn the tide of cold public opinion. In a reality where inter-floor noise is a serious cause of neighbor conflicts, her attempt to justify late-night noise simply because she lives on the first floor has left a fatal mark on her credibility as an actress.
Since she continues her activities based on public support through active SNS communication and group purchases, Kim Bin-woo needs a sense of responsibility that goes beyond a simple text apology. She must not forget the basic principle that peaceful coexistence with neighbors should come before flashy online communication.
