ATEEZ leader Hongjoong has officially made his mark as a music director!
Hongjoong attended the 27th Jeonju International Film Festival on May 7 at CGV Jeonju Gosa for the film ‘Hallucination,’ where he connected with fans during a GV (Guest Visit) event.
‘Hallucination’ tells the story of Ralphie, a fashion editor who lives like an AI and falls in love with an AI named Cole. The film garnered significant attention with a special screening in the festival’s largest theater.
The Jeonju International Film Festival is a non-competitive event that introduces alternative trends in contemporary cinematic art, as well as independent and art films. Hongjoong graced the event as the main music director for ‘Hallucination.’
Hongjoong was responsible for the production and work of ‘BLEEDING LIGHT,’ written from the perspective of the protagonist Ralphie as he begins to feel forbidden emotions for the AI, and ‘NOTHING LEFT,’ which captures the fundamental discomfort of the piece. Hongjoong even lent his voice to ‘NOTHING LEFT,’ leaving a powerful and lasting impression during the movie’s ending.
During the GV held immediately after the screening, Hongjoong spent a meaningful time actively communicating with the audience, introducing the music up close and answering questions about the work.
Hongjoong shared, “I am honored to have participated as a music director for a film through a great opportunity. It was a very meaningful project. I gained a lot of inspiration while watching the process of the music I worked on and the new sounds I created fill the movie. I hope Korean independent films reach more people, and I want to continue pursuing new projects in various ways in the future.”
Hongjoong has been staying busy in various fields, having been appointed as a global ambassador for World Vision’s ‘Global 6K for Water’ campaign and serving as an ‘Honorary Falconer’ at an LAFC match held at the BMO Stadium in LA. Fans are eagerly anticipating what he will do next.
Interestingly, Hongjoong’s brother, Beomjoong, appears as the lead actor in ‘Hallucination.’
