Balming Tiger dropped the second pre-release track ‘Gojingamrae’ from their second full-length album ‘Gongbu’ on May 12 at 6 PM across various online music platforms!
‘Gojingamrae’ is a track that puts a modern spin on the classical vibes of East Asia, including Korea, blending psychedelic textures with a retro band sound. With sogumm as the main vocal, the song sensually explores the life lesson that “pleasure follows pain.” Members bj wnjn, Unsinkable, and San Yawn also joined the production to ensure the track’s musical quality is top-notch.
The visuals are just as detailed as the story! While the first pre-release track ‘Home’ made waves with a black comedy music video inspired by the ‘Hamjinabi’ motif and a reinterpretation of the late architect Kim Chung-up’s work as a research lab, ‘Gojingamrae’ levels up the detail with its cover art. Created by member Hong Chan-hee, the art features bj wnjn’s face on a ‘Gongbu Korea’ employee ID, bringing the virtual universe to life in a vivid, visual way.
After the full album drops on the 19th, Balming Tiger will host a solo concert titled ‘Gongbu 工夫’ on June 6 and 7 at the Blue Square Woori WON Banking Hall in Seoul. They’ll bring the album’s complex narrative and stunning visuals to a powerful 100-minute live performance, proving their one-of-a-kind musical identity through all five senses!
