Roo’ra’s Chae Rina shared her honest feelings about her 10-year struggle with infertility, revealing that the “consideration” from those around her actually caused her more pain.
On May 9, a pre-released clip of “Lee Ho-sun’s Cider” featuring Chae Rina as a guest was uploaded to the SBS Plus Splus channel.
Chae Rina married NC Dinos base running coach Park Yong-geun in 2016. She underwent several rounds of IVF to have a child, but unfortunately, they did not lead to success.
Reflecting on a decade of IVF treatments, she expressed her pain, saying, “The egg retrieval process was incredibly difficult. My body was completely worn out, and my mental health collapsed.”
What made things even harder for Chae Rina was the “stigma” resulting from repeated failures. She revealed that people around her hid their pregnancies and even their children’s first birthday parties to be considerate of her situation.
“I’ve overcome everything and I’m doing fine now, but from my friends’ perspective, they probably thought, ‘She still looks like she’s struggling, so why does she say she’s okay?'” Chae Rina shared bitterly.
In response, Lee Ho-sun comforted her, saying, “Consideration is not the same as exclusion. There is a process of a flower garden between the peaks. It’s about knowing that point.” Deeply moved, Chae Rina joked, “I don’t even need to get paid for this appearance.”
Meanwhile, the episode of “Lee Ho-sun’s Cider” featuring Chae Rina will air on the 16th. The show is a conflict chart show that provides refreshing solutions for frustrating “villains” and airs every Saturday at 10 AM.
