The SBS variety show ‘Sikpoiler’ is a high-end gourmet roadshow where Choi Kang-rok, Kim Do-yoon, and Defconn travel across the country to uncover culinary secrets and the pleasure of intellectual gastronomy.
In the May 5 broadcast, the second journey of Choi Kang-rok, Kim Do-yoon, and Defconn begins. They head to a large market in Seoul where Choi Kang-rok claims to have visited “over a thousand times,” specifically visiting one of his favorite regular spots. He piques curiosity by choosing a surprisingly ordinary ingredient, “chicken,” amidst a paradise of ingredients.
Choi Kang-rok then invites them to a regular restaurant filled with memories, from his love story to parenting episodes. While introducing his “favorite menu,” he digs into the secrets of the taste. The owner of the restaurant seems flustered by an unexpected question. What is the hidden know-how of this place that earns rave reviews and captures the taste buds of both the chefs and Defconn?
Chef Jung Ho-young, who has been close with Choi Kang-rok since their study abroad days in Japan, appears as a guest. As Jung Ho-young shares memories of their friendship, Kim Do-yoon shows a curious reaction. While Choi Kang-rok demonstrates a chicken dish that can be easily made at home, a “battle for Choi Kang-rok” breaks out between Kim Do-yoon and Jung Ho-young, and the atmosphere heats up further with differing opinions on the secret to the taste.
