Choi Ji-ho, a member of the New Media Team at the Chungju City Hall Public Relations Office and the successor to the famous “Chungju-man” Kim Sun-tae, recently spoke out about the distress caused by phone calls coming into his department during work hours.
On the 13th, a video titled “Chungju Girl Choi Ji-ho, the last leaf of former Chungju-man Kim Sun-tae who came to chase the 220,000 subscribers who ran away” was uploaded to the YouTube channel ‘No Back Tak Jae-hoon’. Appearing as a guest, Choi Ji-ho showed off his wit. During a conversation with MCs Tak Jae-hoon and Shin Kyu-jin, Tak Jae-hoon asked, “Choi Ji-ho, I heard a male fan keeps calling your department. Is he actually a fan, or is it someone from your private life?”
Choi Ji-ho sighed, replying, “I don’t think he’s a fan; it seems like he has some business. But his voice wasn’t great. There was a bit of a malicious vibe.” When Shin Kyu-jin asked if the caller suggests grabbing a meal together, Choi Ji-ho lamented, “The tone isn’t good. It feels really sinister. He just asks if I’m at my desk. The tone of voice is just sinister.”
Shin Kyu-jin then shifted the topic, saying, “There’s something baffling. I heard Choi Ji-ho goes around saying he’s the Kazuha of Chungju.” Choi Ji-ho clarified, “I didn’t go around saying it; acquaintances just told me I look like her.” Shin Kyu-jin then sparked laughter by mimicking the “sinister voice” of the person calling the department.
Since Kim Sun-tae left his civil service position, Choi Ji-ho has been taking over the role of promoting Chungju City by appearing on various broadcast programs. This includes an appearance on the JTBC variety show ‘Knowing Bros’ back in March. During the talk, Choi Ji-ho confessed the pressure of managing the Chungju City channel. “I feel like I inherited a crown from Kim Sun-tae, but that crown is way too heavy,” he said. He also joked about the 220,000 subscribers who left after Kim Sun-tae’s departure, saying, “It wasn’t just a slight dip; it felt like the entire population of Chungju citizens left.”
Currently, the official Chungju City channel managed by Choi Ji-ho has shown signs of recovery after the mass exodus of subscribers. It continues to be a hot topic, with every uploaded video recording over 1 million views.
