Big Hit Music’s rookie boy group CORTIS is seeing massive hype, with pre-orders for their new album nearly hitting 2.4 million copies!
According to Big Hit Music, citing data from distributors YG PLUS and Universal Records, pre-orders for CORTIS’s second mini album ‘GREENGREEN’, releasing on May 4, reached 2,397,188 copies as of April 30.
The momentum for ‘GREENGREEN’ has been incredible. Pre-orders hit 1.22 million just 7 days after starting on March 27, and reached 2.02 million within 18 days. The agency explained that after the title track ‘REDRED’ was unveiled, orders surged by another 347,133 copies over ten days, climbing from 2,050,005.
Following their debut album ‘COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES’, which sold over 2.06 million copies, all eyes are on whether they will secure another “double million seller” title (albums selling over 2 million copies).
The global anticipation is just as strong! As of May 2, pre-saves for ‘GREENGREEN’ on Spotify reached 999,000, putting them right on the doorstep of 1 million.
The title track ‘REDRED’ has already made waves, entering the Spotify Weekly Top Songs Global chart at 103 (for the period of April 24 to 30) and soaring 54 spots to claim the top spot on the Spotify Korea Weekly Top Songs chart. Plus, they snagged their first-ever music show win on Mnet’s ‘M Countdown’ on April 30!
Known as a “Young Creator Crew” for co-creating their music, videos, and choreography, CORTIS filled ‘GREENGREEN’ with everything they aim for. During the showcase, James shared that they crafted the album by “thinking about things that aren’t like us or things we don’t want to do, and erasing them one by one.”
To celebrate the release of ‘GREENGREEN’ on May 4, CORTIS will host a “GREENGREEN Release Party” at 8 PM at S-Factory in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, where they’ll perform all six tracks live. The party will be streamed live on the HYBE Labels YouTube channel and the fan community platform Weverse.
