Group Cortis is showing some truly incredible growth!
According to Hanteo Chart on the 11th, Cortis’s second mini album “Green Green” topped the weekly album chart with total first-week sales of 2,313,291 copies. This is a massive jump—over five times the first-week sales of their first mini album “Color Outside the Line” (436,367 copies) released last September. Among K-pop albums released this year, this marks the second-highest first-week sales record, following BTS’s fifth studio album “Arirang” (4.17 million copies).
The title track “Red Red” is gaining huge popularity thanks to its fresh sound and addictive performance. On Spotify, the world’s largest streaming platform, Cortis became the first K-pop boy group to debut in the last five years to enter the Daily Top Songs Global chart. They have also successfully charted on the Weekly Top Songs Global for two consecutive weeks.
As of the 10th, their Spotify monthly listener count reached 10,322,254. This is a surge of over 40% in just one month, placing them among the top five K-pop boy groups of all time alongside BTS, Tomorrow X Together, and Enhypen. On the domestic music site Melon, they are hitting new personal bests, ranking 6th on the daily chart on the 9th and 2nd on the Top 100 as of 11 PM on the 10th.
On the 11th at 9 PM, Cortis will release the music video for “ACAI”, following the releases of “Red Red” and “TNT”. The song is inspired by the members’ favorite food, the acai bowl. It carries a message about wanting to be a person of substance, just like an acai bowl that tastes delicious even without any toppings. Martin and Seonghyun handled the producing, while all members participated in writing the lyrics and composing the music.
