DAY6's Wonpil Proves He's the Ultimate Emotional Singer-Songwriter!

DAY6’s Wonpil has officially released the music video for “Piano,” a track from his first solo mini album.

Wonpil dropped his first mini album ‘Unpiltered’ and the title track “Love Ward” on March 30. This new release is especially exciting for fans, coming about four years after his first full-length solo album ‘Pilmography’ released in February 2022.

On the afternoon of May 4, the music video for “Piano” was unveiled on the official JYP Entertainment YouTube channel, immediately grabbing fans’ attention. The MV enhances the mood with lyrical piano melodies and Wonpil’s soulful voice, while his deep emotional acting leaves a lasting impression. “Piano” is a dynamic track that starts with a minimal arrangement and gradually fills with diverse sounds. Wonpil wrote the lyrics and participated in the composition, expressing the longing felt after parting with a loved one.

Wonpil also successfully wrapped up his solo concert ‘WONPIL SOLO CONCERT ‘Unpiltered” held from May 1 to 3 at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Songpa-gu, Seoul. This was his first solo concert in about 4 years and 2 months since ‘Pilmography’ in March 2022, where he showcased his unique musical colors through a discography filled with rich emotion.

To ensure Wonpil’s voice and sincerity reached everyone, JYP Entertainment created a barrier-free environment for audience members with hearing impairments. In collaboration with the non-profit organization Hearcycle, they introduced a listening assistance system (Auracast) that transmits audio to receivers regardless of spatial limitations. This marks the first time a Korean entertainment company has implemented such a system.

While anticipation grows for Wonpil’s future musical journey, his group DAY6 is currently cruising through their 10th-anniversary tour ‘The DECADE’. The tour kicked off on August 30 and 31 at the Goyang Stadium in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do, marking the first time a domestic band has entered the venue and achieved a complete sell-out. The tour continues with stops in Macau on the 9th, Busan on the 16th and 17th, and Kobe on June 20 and 21.
