DAY6’s Wonpil has successfully wrapped up his solo concert ‘Unpiltered’ at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Seoul!
Wonpil created beautiful springtime memories with his solo concert. From May 1 to 3, he held ‘WONPIL SOLO CONCERT Unpiltered’ at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
This concert marked his first solo show in about 4 years and 2 months since ‘Pilmography’ in March 2022. The event garnered massive interest from fans, with all seats sold out for every show. On the final day, May 3, the performance was streamed live via the Beyond LIVE platform, allowing even more My Day to join the celebration.
As a member of DAY6 and the unit DAY6 (Even of Day), as well as a solo artist, Wonpil has always shared his deep sensitivity and sweet voice. He carefully presented a musical filmography that showcased his unique colors. Accompanied by a band session, he delivered songs like ‘Toxic Love’, ‘I Became an Adult’, ‘Piece of Paper’, ‘Erase’, and ‘Drawing’ with his signature sorrowful yet cozy tone. He also brought fluttery excitement with soft vocals in ‘Shall We Walk More’, ‘Spring Will Come Someday’, ‘Landed’, and ‘Home Alone’. His sweet voice shone in ‘Wedding Song’ and ‘Love, This Must Be It’, where he added cute dance moves that filled the venue with happiness.
Wonpil captured everyone’s attention as he appeared on stage playing the piano amidst a sea of twinkling lights. The fantastic production, making it feel as though he were floating among the stars, combined with his melodic piano and soaring vocals, created an unforgettable, breathtaking moment. He then left a unique lingering impression by performing DAY6 hits ‘Like the Wind’ and ‘You Were Beautiful’ with his own piano accompaniment and voice, while moving hearts with the lyrical beauty of ‘Late End’ and ‘Goodbye’.
His delicate approach to connecting with every single audience member heightened the immersion of the show. During ‘Not a Million Flowers’, as red flower petal confetti fluttered down, he romantically presented Lisianthus flowers, which symbolize unchanging love. Throughout the sequence of ‘Loner on a Remote Island’, ‘Becoming a Writer in a Novel’, and ‘Wish’, he maintained eye contact and communicated deeply with the fans, showing his sincere heart.
To ensure his voice and sincerity reached as many people as possible, JYP Entertainment created a barrier-free environment for audience members with hearing impairments. In collaboration with the non-profit organization Hearcycle, they introduced a hearing assistance system (Auracast) that transmits audio to receivers regardless of spatial limitations. This is the first time a Korean entertainment company has implemented such a system, and it is expected to lead practical changes in concert accessibility while enhancing the sincerity of sustainable management.
After showing his captivating and intense charms in ‘Love Ward’ and ‘Up All Night’, he brought the energy to a peak with ‘Wish Me Luck’, harmonizing with the crowd. Toward the end of the show, Wonpil moved across the stage with a bright smile, greeting fans warmly. Until the very last moment, he kept his eyes on the audience, conveying his deep affection. The crowd responded with loving cheers, filling the venue with warmth and overwhelming emotion.
After closing the show with ‘Step by Step’, Wonpil shared his thoughts: “Thank you so much for being a great source of strength for me today. It is meaningful and happy to hold my second solo concert at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium, a place filled with many memories. I am grateful to My Day, who helped me grow the most by my side. From the solo album to this concert, I think this will be an unforgettable moment in my life. I am happy to share this moment with you and thankful that you appeared in my life. I will continue to repay you with good music and a great image,” leaving fans excited for the new musical stories he will write.
After successfully finishing his solo concert amidst the passionate cheers of fans, Wonpil will continue his global journey as part of the DAY6 10th anniversary tour, ‘DAY6 10th Anniversary Tour < The DECADE >‘. The tour heat will continue in Macau on the 9th, Busan on the 16th and 17th, and Kobe on June 20 and 21.
