Disney+ original series ‘Pine: Chontteugideul’ and ‘Made in Korea’ have proven the “Disney Power” by sweeping major categories at the Directors Cut Awards.

At the 24th Directors Cut Awards held on May 19, ‘Pine: Chontteugideul’ achieved brilliant results, winning Best Director, Best Actress, and New Actor in the series category, while ‘Made in Korea’ took home the Best Actor award. The Directors Cut Awards hold a special meaning as the winners are selected and presented by the directors of the Directors Guild of Korea, making it a true choice of the creators.

Director Kang created a highly immersive work, vividly capturing the survival stories of various people set against the backdrop of the Sinan coast in the 1970s with sensory direction. Meanwhile, Im Soo-jung, who showcased a side of herself never seen before as Yang Jung-sook, the savvy mistress of Heungbaek Industry, was honored with the Best Actress award. Having previously won Best Supporting Actress at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards for ‘Pine: Chontteugideul’, Im Soo-jung once again proved her outstanding acting skills. Hyun Bin, who convincingly completed the multi-dimensional aspects of his character as KCIA section chief Baek Ki-tae with an overwhelming aura and irreplaceable presence, grabbed the Best Actor award.
