Singers Rain and KCM turned the living room into a sea of laughter with a spicy “bestie” exposure battle befitting their 10-year friendship.
On the May 11 episode of SBS variety show ‘Ani Geunde Jinjja!’, Rain appeared as a guest, and his close friend KCM, who calls himself Rain’s “oxygen mask,” made a surprise visit to showcase his witty talk.
The banter was heated from the start. As soon as Rain saw KCM, he tried to escape, saying, “I’m done, so I’ll head out first…” In response, KCM confessed, “Rain is my oxygen mask. Jihoon tried to break up with me several times, but I told him, ‘You can stop seeing me, but I’m going to keep seeing you,'” sparking bursts of laughter.
Rain’s counterattack was just as strong. He targeted KCM, saying, “KCM never carries a wallet no matter what he does. I recently got a cup of coffee from him at a neighborhood cafe, and I think it’s the first time in 13 years.” KCM nonchalantly responded, “That’s why I sit in the inner seat when I eat with Jihoon,” proudly showing off his “moocher bestie” side.
The highlight was the exposure of Rain’s dual personality.
Mentioning ‘Bloodhounds 2’, KCM opened the floodgates of exposure, saying, “Jihoon became more prone to anger during filming. He would suddenly do shadow boxing even while getting coffee and abruptly tell me, ‘What are you looking at? I’m really strong right now. Don’t touch me.'”
When Rain protested, “Am I some kind of psychopath? I need to keep things organized,” KCM delivered the finishing blow. He revealed, “But in the middle of all that, as soon as a call comes in from his wife (Kim Tae Hee), he suddenly becomes a gentle lamb,” leaving the set in chaos.
Rain lamented, “My wife takes such great care of KCM, but when we’re together, she just tramples and puts me down.”
The battle then shifted to KCM’s home life. Regarding the parenting photos KCM posts on SNS, Rain claimed, “He packages it so well I thought he was Jesus. He only spends 5 minutes taking those. As soon as he hears ‘cut,’ he goes outside.” He further pushed, saying, “He only opened a restaurant in Jeju so he wouldn’t have to go home and could go fishing instead. He even bought a boat.”
Amidst the laughter, some sincere feelings were shared. Rain expressed his disappointment at finding out about KCM’s marriage and the birth of his daughter through news articles first, admitting, “At first, I felt so hurt that I wondered, ‘What am I to this person?'”
KCM responded with an awkward smile and an apology, confirming the deep bond of friendship the two men have shared for 10 years.
