Former baseball player Yang Joon-hyuk has opened up about his difficult childhood and the incredible sacrifices his mother made for him.

In the May 10th episode of KBS 2TV’s variety show ‘Boss in the Mirror’ (Sadang-gwi), Yang Joon-hyuk shared a heartfelt story about his past with his juniors.

While treating his juniors from the Uiseong High School baseball team to a lavish meat dinner, Yang Joon-hyuk offered some life advice by reflecting on his own struggles. He revealed, “I played baseball coming from a family in difficult financial circumstances. At home, they told me they wished I wouldn’t play.”

He shared a touching memory, saying, “I told them I’d even beg if it meant I could play baseball. My mother worked as a housekeeper, a cleaner, and even sold pickled radish in the market. Because of that, I pushed myself to the absolute limit.” His story of his mother’s devotion and his own determination left everyone deeply moved.

These days, Yang Joon-hyuk is a successful entrepreneur. He is currently running a yellowtail fish farming business on a massive 3,000-pyeong farm and previously revealed on ‘Boss in the Mirror’ that his annual sales reach about 3 billion won. He currently operates four different businesses, including a mega-cafe, the fish farm, a restaurant, and a fishing spot.
