Ravi (33) is showing signs of making a full-scale return to the spotlight following his military service law violation controversy.
On the 13th, the former VIXX member shared photos from a brand collection preview on his social media. This marks his first update regarding his return to activities, coming 13 days after he posted some daily photos on the 1st. In the photos, Ravi looks sleek in an all-black outfit and glasses.
Ravi was previously put on trial for attempting to evade military service by pretending to be an epilepsy patient, allegedly conspiring with a military broker, “A,” while serving as a social service agent starting in October 2022. The case caused a massive stir when it was revealed that A had sent Ravi a message saying, “Good, military exemption.”
According to prosecutors, Ravi received an “epilepsy scenario” from A and acted as if he had fainted during hospital examinations. In the first trial, he was sentenced to one year in prison, suspended for two years. Prosecutors appealed the ruling, having originally requested a two-year prison sentence.
However, the second trial court upheld the original verdict, and the sentence became final as neither side appealed further. Following the final ruling, Ravi completed his remaining service period as instructed by authorities and was officially discharged on December 13 last year.

In March, following his discharge, Ravi posted his first apology. He bowed his head, stating, “While going through this process, I felt incredibly ashamed of myself for seeking understanding by using my personal situation and environment as an excuse when I should have reflected on myself.” He added, “I have realized that a cowardly choice can cause pain and harm to others.”
Despite completing his service and apologizing, public reaction to Ravi’s return is split. Some believe that since he has faced legal punishment, there should be no issue with his activities. On the other hand, critics argue that returning so soon after a military corruption scandal, one of the most sensitive issues in Korea, is premature.
Given the public outrage over the conspiracy with the broker and the “Good, military exemption” message, it seems opinions on Ravi’s full-scale return will remain divided for some time.
Ravi debuted in 2012 as a member of VIXX and later gained widespread popularity through the KBS2 variety show “2 Days & 1 Night Season 4.” However, he left the group following the military service controversy.
