Director Kim Min-ha of the movie ‘Student Teacher’ shared the behind-the-scenes story of working with WJSN’s Lee Yeoreum following his previous collaboration with Son Joo-yeon.
On the May 11 broadcast of MBC FM4U’s ‘Kim Shin-young’s Noon Song of Hope’, Han Sun-hwa from the movie ‘Student Teacher’ served as the special DJ, while Director Kim Min-ha and actress Lee Yeoreum joined as guests to discuss the project.
Releasing on the 13th, ‘Student Teacher’ is a comedy featuring ‘Eun-kyung’ (Han Sun-hwa), a passionate MZ student teacher who must face a deathly mock exam against a CSAT ghost, alongside girls from a black magic club.
One listener curiously asked, “Director, are you perhaps a WJSN fan? You’ve cast Yeoreum after Joo-yeon!”
Director Kim Min-ha previously worked with WJSN’s Son Joo-yeon in the 2024 film ‘Amoeba Girls and School Ghost Stories: School Anniversary’.
Director Kim honestly admitted, “I was familiar with WJSN, but I wasn’t exactly a fan.”
He continued, “After casting Son Joo-yeon in my previous work, I watched a lot of their activity videos while researching. I saw Lee Yeoreum in them frequently. I kept her in mind from then on, and I specifically thought of her for the role of Rico.”
Director Kim added, “I’ve become a WJSN fan now. From Eun-byeol to Saet-byeol, you could call it the WJSN universe.”
