‘Girigo’ has officially hit number one on the Netflix Non-English TV Show chart in just its second week of release!

According to Netflix’s ranking site, Tudum, the new original series ‘Girigo’ (Written by Park Jung-seop / Directed by Park Yoon-seo) recorded 7.5 million views from April 27 to May 3, securing the top spot.

The series follows high school students who fight desperately to escape a curse from ‘Girigo,’ a wish-granting application that predicts their sudden deaths.

‘Girigo’ is receiving rave reviews for its perfect blend of teen drama, horror, and the occult. After debuting at number four with 2.8 million views in its first week, the show’s popularity skyrocketed thanks to word-of-mouth.

To thank the fans, the production team has released behind-the-scenes stills. One shot of Jeon So-young as Se-ah in a shamanic space brings back the powerful scene where Se-ah faces her trauma, leaving a lasting impression on viewers.

Other stills show Baek Sun-ho and Hyun Woo-seok giving their all while performing with wires, highlighting their passion for creating immersive scenes. Additionally, the intense efforts of Haetsal (played by Jeon Soni) and Bang-ul (played by Noh Jae-won) to save the children remind us of their captivating presence in every scene.

A shot of Kim Si-ah getting makeup, with the rainbow-decorated hideout of Hye-ryung (played by Kim Si-ah) and Si-won (played by Choi Ju-eun) in the background, captures the unique freshness of ‘Girigo’ by blending teen innocence with an eerie atmosphere.
