What truly surprised many was her honest confession about her health. Go Hyun-jung revealed, “I had a very major emergency surgery in 2020,” explaining that the area connecting her duodenum and pancreas had only been sutured and that she also had complex stomach issues. She shared that she managed with medication, but collapsed again in 2024 due to extreme stress. Recalling the urgency of that moment, she said, “I went into surgery after midnight and barely survived.”

She also addressed the rumors regarding her health sparked by her recent thin appearance. Go Hyun-jung admitted, “It’s true that I really have no energy,” adding, “I used to love eating, but now I can’t eat much. I can only eat about two or three grains of kimbap.” She candidly shared her fear, saying, “I’m afraid that if I eat, something might hurt again,” referring to the aftereffects of her surgery.

However, she clarified, “People think I’m on a severe diet, but that’s absolutely not the case. How could I possibly diet when my health is fluctuating like this?”
