In ‘Everyone is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness’, Go Youn-jung’s character finally revealed her true identity after being provoked by Bae Jong-ok. Meanwhile, Koo Kyo-hwan’s character is set to work with the legendary actor Sung Dong-il for his debut project!

In the May 17 episode of JTBC’s ‘Everyone is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness’, Eun-ah (played by Go Youn-jung) revealed to Dong-hyun (played by Choi Won-young) that she is actually “Young-sil,” while Dong-man (played by Koo Kyo-hwan) was seen signing a contract with Kang-shik (played by Sung Dong-il).

The tension rose when Jung-hee (played by Bae Jong-ok) visited the Choi Film office with plenty of snacks. While the staff were amazed by her powerful aura, Eun-ah looked visibly troubled.

Facing Eun-ah’s ex-boyfriend Jae-young, Jung-hee shared her thoughts on the script ‘Knock Knock Knock’, stating, “I completely agree that all humans are bundles of emotion. How could someone think of such a thing? Without worrying about being a good or bad parent, everyone is born from a bamboo shoot, so there’s no one to resent. This is heaven. Why didn’t God think of something so simple? I read the lines out loud because I wanted to feel them on my lips. The writing is very deep. Director Ma leans more toward the female perspective.”

While Jae-young could only manage an awkward smile, Jung-hee advised, “Why is the protagonist a man? This scenario would work perfectly if changed to a woman. ‘Knock Knock Knock’ isn’t a piece that can be handled by acting alone. An actor who embodies that emotion is crucial. To bring out that flavor, you need an actor who understands the depth of the writing and can act down to the decimal point. It would be a disaster if an actor who just acts strongly to make the movie their own comes in.”

She further appealed, “I can see that someone poured their soul into this. Could you handle the set collapsing while filming with such an actor? I can feel it to my bones.”

Jung-hee already knew that Eun-ah was the writer ‘Young-sil’. When asked why she used a pen name, Eun-ah fired back, “Whether it’s a husband or a child, you had to make everything attached to you special to stand out. I still remember that look you gave a slow and quiet child, as if something was wrong. In the end, you gave up on both your husband and your child.”

Jung-hee countered, “If it becomes a theme, it’s desire; if it doesn’t, it’s greed. It’s definitely a theme, so why should I live by suppressing my desires? You seem more fake to me. I bet you want people to know I’m Young-sil, and that your share in ‘Knock Knock Knock’ is huge. But you’re scared of being torn apart by people, so you hide behind a pen name while feeding your ego. You must be in hell right now, unable to stand Ma Jae-young taking all the credit.”

She continued to press Eun-ah, “Just open up. Say ‘I am Young-sil, I am Oh Jung-hee’s daughter.’ I heard you’re being bold with CEO Choi. Could you even do that if you weren’t me? Sure, keep acting out. Didn’t you think you’d make me feel embarrassed later? You said you’d be incredibly successful and wouldn’t let me act like I know you then. When did you ever shine? While hiding behind a pen name.” Eun-ah tried to suppress her anger with a hollow laugh before eventually screaming in distress.

In the midst of this, Dong-hyun got angry, saying, “Some people mistake someone else’s writing for their own after giving too much advice. Do you want to try writing under Young-sil for a month? Do you want to feel your own level painfully?” This prompted Eun-ah to finally reveal the truth: “It’s me. I’m Young-sil. The writer Ma Jae-young wants to hide so badly.”

At the end of the episode, Kang-shik was shown signing a contract as the lead for Dong-man’s debut work, promising an even more exciting development.
