Kakao Entertainment’s music platform Melon is creating special green spaces through its ‘Forest;trimming’ project, including the BTS 3rd Forest, Young Tak 1st Forest, Lim Young-woong 3rd Forest, and TXT 3rd Forest. In particular, the BTS 3rd Forest is the largest in the history of ‘Forest;trimming’ and is scheduled to be completed on May 15 at Ttukseom Hangang Park.
Melon announced that through ‘Forest;trimming’—an eco-friendly project that creates forests in the names of supported artists—they have completed the record-breaking BTS 3rd Forest and recently unveiled the Young Tak 1st Forest, Lim Young-woong 3rd Forest, and Tomorrow X Together 3rd Forest.
Launched in June 2022, ‘Forest;trimming’ gives any Melon subscriber the chance to create a forest named after their favorite artist. While using a Melon subscription, users simply select their favorite artist on the ‘Forest;trimming’ page, and up to 2% of the monthly payment is automatically accumulated. Once a total of 20 million won is collected for an artist, Melon adds a 5 million won donation, and the full 25 million won is donated to the Seoul Environmental Union to create a forest in Seoul.
With these four new additions, a total of 20 forests have now been born through ‘Forest;trimming.’ This achievement is a direct result of the active participation and passionate support of each artist’s fandom.

Collaborating with the Seoul Environmental Union and various partner agencies, Melon established the Young Tak 1st Forest on March 13 at Nanji Hangang Park, the Lim Young-woong 3rd Forest on April 10 at Noeul Park, and the Tomorrow X Together 3rd Forest on April 24 at Seoul Children’s Grand Park. The massive BTS 3rd Forest is set to be completed on May 15 at Ttukseom Hangang Park.
The BTS 3rd Forest, which began construction in October 2024, is the largest forest ever created under the ‘Forest;trimming’ project. Unlike other forests, it was funded by five rounds of fan donations totaling 100 million won, combined with a 25 million won contribution from Melon, for a total donation of 125 million won.
A total of 1,612 plants will be planted, including mountain cherry trees (12), bridal wreath spirea (100), lilacs (150), honeysuckle (80), Nandina (150), panicle hydrangeas (150), wing euonymus (70), privet (150), three-color spirea (120), and various other shrubs and grasses. This large-scale green space against the backdrop of the Han River is expected to enrich the urban ecological environment of the Ttukseom area.
The Young Tak 1st Forest features 403 plants, including fringe trees (3) and honeysuckle (400). Located at the Nanji Hangang Park grass square in Mapo-gu, Seoul, this space is a beautiful realization of fan support and is open for anyone to visit.

The Lim Young-woong 3rd Forest was created in the Urban Farmer’s Garden within Noeul Park in Mapo-gu, Seoul. It consists of 529 plants, including sky rockets (8), fringe trees (3), salix (3), Nandina (140), honeysuckle (50), panicle hydrangeas (15), lilacs (130), bridal wreath spirea (110), and abeliophyllum (70). As an urban ecological garden, it will gift citizens the beauty of diverse flowers and trees every season.
The Tomorrow X Together 3rd Forest was established within Seoul Children’s Grand Park. It features 196 plants, including limelights (12), green lights (19), white mullies (15), bridal wreath spirea (120), trumpet bush (12), and cogongrass (18). With a plant composition that highlights the ecological characteristics of the park, it provides a refreshing green space for fans, children, and families.
Fans and citizens can currently visit the Young Tak 1st Forest (Nanji Hangang Park), Lim Young-woong 3rd Forest (Noeul Park), and Tomorrow X Together 3rd Forest (Seoul Children’s Grand Park). The BTS 3rd Forest (Ttukseom Hangang Park) will open to the public after its completion on May 15. Nanji Hangang Park also houses the existing BTS 1st and 2nd forests and Lim Young-woong’s 1st and 2nd forests, making it a perfect nature healing course in the city.
