Gumi Indong Library Transforms Into a Movie-Loving Cultural Hub Every Wednesday Night!

Gumi Municipal Indong Library is launching an exciting participatory movie program to give citizens more chances to enjoy culture and turn the library into a vibrant community hub!

The library announced that “Movie Reading Wednesday,” a special cultural program for local residents, will kick off on the 20th.

In line with the government’s “Culture Day” policy, this program helps citizens get closer to cultural content in their daily lives. It is especially eye-catching because it goes beyond just watching movies, blending in citizen participation and communication.

“Movie Reading Wednesday” will take place every third Wednesday of the month at 7 PM in the 1st-floor Healing Lounge of Indong Library until December. After the screening, there will be a “One-line Review” corner where everyone can naturally share their thoughts and feelings.

These one-line reviews will be turned into postcards and displayed in the library’s exhibition hall and Healing Lounge every quarter in July, September, and December. It is expected to create a wonderful sense of cultural connection among users.

The first film to be screened is Little Forest, a movie that captures the beauty of nature and daily life. Future screenings will be announced on the Gumi Municipal Central Library website and SNS.

Ryu Jung-sook, Director of Gumi Municipal Central Library, stated, “I hope citizens feel more familiar with the library as a place where movies, books, and culture coexist. We plan to expand various linked programs, such as movie-related book exhibitions and discussions.”
