Ha Hyun-woo shared some behind-the-scenes stories about the OST of a famous drama starring Park Seo-joon.
In the JTBC variety show ‘Hidden Singer 8’ aired on the night of the 12th, a battle between Guckkasten’s Ha Hyun-woo and his sound-alikes was revealed.
The first song choice of the day was Guckkasten’s ‘Waiting Every Day’, a track that once dominated ‘King of Mask Singer’. As it is a true masterpiece, content featuring this song has recorded hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube, proving its high popularity.
Tension exploded from the very first round. Votes were split among candidates 1, 2, and 3. Candidate 1 was the sound-alike ‘Songnisan Rajenka’, whose impressive vocal volume and powerful high notes were truly striking. Even the first-round eliminated contestants were of an incredible caliber.
One contestant shared that he had a very difficult time while living in Songnisan, saying, “I had no money and struggled in many ways, but I don’t think I could have stood up if it weren’t for Ha Hyun-woo’s songs.” He drew applause after revealing that he was able to make a comeback by winning a music festival.
Then, Ha Hyun-woo appeared as candidate 3, having received 31 votes from people who thought he was a fake. He barely survived, with only a two-vote difference from elimination. He couldn’t hide his bewilderment at the sound-alikes’ skills, saying, “I thought I’d get 0 votes, but this is different from the mental training I did.”

In the second round, ‘Stone’ (Dol-deong-i), the OST for the drama ‘Itaewon Class’, made an appearance. As a theme song for a hit drama, it reminded everyone of Ha Hyun-woo’s vocal history. The song, which reflects the obsession and fighting spirit of the protagonist Park Saeroyi (Park Seo-joon), had ‘Stone’ as its actual title, not just a working title.
He shared a secret, saying, “I wondered if there was actually a title called ‘Stone’, but it was the real title. I was surprised by how quickly the song was loved, even though I participated without much pressure.”
The song held the top spot in the music industry for about 28 weeks. Song Eun-i commented, “This song made many people aware of the singer Ha Hyun-woo. It feels like the song perfectly captures the message of the original webtoon author,” adding, “It’s a song that vividly brings to mind the scene where Park Seo-joon faces his enemies.” The YouTube views have already surpassed 37 million.
Even now, this song is frequently heard in hair salons and restaurants in Itaewon. Regarding the second round, he showed off his veteran singer’s confidence, saying, “I’m always confident.” He shared his ambition as a singer, stating, “There’s a saying that a singer’s fate follows their songs. The lyrics of ‘Stone’ say, ‘Look at me, I’m unfazed, I’ll rise again.’ I will continue to rise silently and unfazed.”

He sparked laughter by expressing “disappointment” toward the audience, saying, “Actually, I’m a bit disappointed in the audience here. You’re looking at me as if I’m a stranger,” because they didn’t recognize his voice as well as he expected. The audience laughed back, saying, “I didn’t know a singer could get sulky.”
Regarding the talked-about ‘Stone’ stage, Lee Yoon-seok and others guessed that candidate 5 felt solid like granite and was likely Ha Hyun-woo. Park Wan-kyu guessed that candidate 2 seemed professional and like an expert. In the end, Ha Hyun-woo appeared as candidate 2, drawing applause.
Other sound-alikes also showcased amazing vocal abilities and skills, leaving Ha Hyun-woo impressed. The battle between the original singer and the talented mimics further proved the popularity of ‘Stone’.
