MBC’s variety show ‘Radio Star’ aired a special ‘Radio Star Spring Festival’ episode on the 20th, featuring guests Kim Chang-wan, Jannabi’s Choi Jung-hoon, Roy Kim, and Hanroro.
During the show, Hanroro revealed that she is a “Power J,” meaning she is a 100% planner. She shared that she plans everything for festivals because she wants to do them perfectly. She even worries about the small things, thinking, “What if I smell bad because I’m sweating in the heat?” To prevent this, she plans to use deodorant and perfume, as she wants to get close to the audience without feeling embarrassed.
Hanroro also opened up about her connection with AKMU’s Lee Chanhyuk. She mentioned, “I had been thinking that I wanted to collaborate with Chanhyuk oppa, but he actually recognized me first and contacted me around 2023.” Following this, she participated as a vocalist for the song ‘Romantico’.
She recalled being quite nervous during the recording, but Lee Chanhyuk provided very “emotional” direction. He told her to imagine drinking wine with a lover on a rainy day, which sparked laughter when Hanroro admitted that she doesn’t actually like alcohol.
Hanroro also described Lee Chanhyuk’s unique directing style. She shared a story where the lyric was “I want to stop” (Meomchugo sipeo), but he asked her to sing only the first syllable “Meom.” She actually stopped singing and thought to herself, “I don’t think this is right.” However, because he is an artist she admires, she trusted that he had a reason and went along with it. When he asked how it sounded, she told him it was “cool,” only for him to reveal he was just joking to help her relax. She admitted that while his directing was witty, she was the only one breaking into a cold sweat from the tension.
