MBC’s ‘Oh Eun-young Report – Again, Love’ will share the touching story of the ‘PUBG Couple,’ featuring a husband who stays by his wife’s side after her terminal stomach cancer diagnosis.
Airing on May 18 at 9 PM, this episode of ‘Oh Eun-young Report’ is a special titled ‘Again, Love’ to celebrate Family Month.
The two-part ‘Again, Love’ series is a 2026 version of the ‘Love’ series, produced by the current affairs department that once moved the entire nation with ‘Human Documentary Love.’ It tells the stories of families who refuse to let go of each other despite unexpected tragedies.
The stars of Part 1 are the ‘PUBG Couple,’ who previously went viral online. The husband had recruited gamers to intentionally let his terminally ill, game-loving wife “kill” them in-game. This heartwarming event saw many gamers voluntarily participate and was even featured in the news. This broadcast will reveal their story since then.
After five happy years of marriage, the couple was hit with the devastating news of terminal stomach cancer.
The husband shared the shocking details, saying, “Seven months after giving birth to our second child, my wife went to the emergency room with abdominal pain and was diagnosed with stomach cancer with peritoneal metastasis. They told us 80% of her large intestine had necrotic tissue and her organs were hardened like stone.” He noted there were no warning signs before the ER visit. Recalling the diagnosis, he said, “The doctor told us it was beyond human medical treatment and that today or tomorrow could be her last.”
The husband confessed that after the gaming event, he decided not to sign the DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) form because his wife told him, “I want to live.” However, her condition continues to worsen. Enduring repeated surgeries and extreme pain, the wife, who has been relying on narcotic painkillers for three months, calmly shared her inner thoughts, saying, “It would be better to just be born anew.”
In a heartbreaking turn, the wife had to undergo an emergency procedure during filming. The husband wept, pleading, “Please hold on, stay strong.” Watching this, Jang Dong-min and Moon Se-yoon also burst into tears, and Dr. Oh Eun-young sobbed, saying, “Not every couple can do this. I pray with all my heart that a miracle happens.”
