A guest who previously worked as a daycare teacher shared a heartbreaking story.
On the May 11th episode of KBS’s ‘Ask Anything’, a guest appeared who suffered hemiplegia after collapsing from a sudden cerebral hemorrhage while working as a daycare teacher. Despite her own mobility issues, she has been mentally and physically exhausted while solely caring for her mother, whose condition is even more severe.
The misfortune didn’t end there. The guest’s mother underwent back surgery at the guest’s suggestion, but a medical accident led to ‘Cauda Equina Syndrome’ (a condition where nerve roots at the lower end of the spinal cord are compressed). The younger brother shifted all the blame onto the guest, telling her, “This happened because you suggested the surgery, so you take responsibility until the end.”
Family conflicts had been festering for a long time. When their father suddenly passed away from a cerebral hemorrhage caused by drinking after spinal surgery, the brother again blamed his sister. He even went as far as to assault the guest’s young son at their father’s funeral under the guise of ‘discipline’ because the child made in-game purchases, resulting in the nephew’s cheekbone being fractured.
The guest sued her brother for the incident, but her mother criticized her instead, asking, “How could you sue your own brother?” and defending the perpetrator. Ultimately, the brother paid a settlement of 18 million won and received a fine to close the case. Despite this, the mother continued to demand the daughter’s sacrifice, insisting, “Your brother needs to earn money, so you, who are disabled, should take care of me.”
Listening to the story, MC Seo Jang-hoon sighed deeply, wondering how so many misfortunes could hit one family. He gave a cold diagnosis to the guest, who was destroying herself, stating, “Right now, the entire family is being irrational and illogical.” He strongly reprimanded the guest for her guilt, adding, “Look at your own health first. You are in no position to feel sorry for anyone right now.”
