Lim Young-woong’s fan club, ‘Youngwoong Sidae Bongsa Nanum Bang Raon,’ gifted a special meal to children with severe disabilities to celebrate Children’s Day.
On the 16th, Raon visited ‘Rodem’s House,’ a residential facility for children with severe disabilities in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi-do, to conduct their 59th meal service and deliver a donation of 2.01 million won.
This service featured a special menu to commemorate Children’s Day in May. Raon members personally prepared the residents’ favorites: Jajangmyeon, Tangsuyuk, Gochu-japchae with flower buns, and beef radish soup.
Jajangmyeon and Tangsuyuk are known to be labor-intensive dishes with long cooking processes.
To prepare 100 servings, members worked up a sweat in the kitchen, frying black bean paste and meat, and prepping large amounts of onions and vegetables for the Tangsuyuk sauce and Gochu-japchae.
In addition to the special meal, Raon prepared snacks like candies, cookies, milk, and drinks, as well as fruits including bananas, oriental melons, oranges, and cherry tomatoes. They also provided 11kg of Hanwoo brisket to make the table even more abundant.
Raon’s sharing is far from a one-time event.
For over six years, they have continued meal services and sponsorships for various places, including Rodem’s House, flophouse villages, Yongsan box village, the Seoul Child Welfare Association, ‘People Who Sell Hope,’ and Seoul National University Children’s Hospital. Recently, they have also been contributing to the reconstruction costs of Rodem’s House.
To date, the cumulative amount of donations Raon has returned to society reaches 221.44 million won.
A representative from Raon stated, “As fans of singer Lim Young-woong, who practices the value of togetherness, we started this to provide warmth to our marginalized neighbors. We will continue our efforts to brighten the dark corners of our society.”
