Singer-songwriter Heegyu has successfully wrapped up his first solo concert celebrating the release of his first EP!

On May 9, Heegyu held his solo concert ‘Broken Hitchhiking’ at SODA2002 in Mapo-gu, Seoul. He delivered a deeply resonant performance that captured the recklessness of youth and the wavering emotions we all face in life.
During the show, Heegyu performed all the tracks from his first EP, released last April, live for the very first time. He filled the venue with a sense of deep empathy, sending a message to the youth who stumble while bravely diving into love: “No recklessness is in vain.”
Heegyu created an intimate mood by utilizing a minimal spatial feel to breathe closer with the audience. He heightened the immersion of the concert by seamlessly transitioning from calm, lyrical vibes to dynamic and free energy.
The setlist also highlighted Heegyu’s artistic planning. Starting with his debut song ‘그치만’, he followed up with ‘나의 동산’, ‘제목불명’, ‘뚝 뚝’, ‘히치하이킹’, ‘억지사랑 고집이별’, and ‘더운바람맞기’, meticulously portraying the complex emotions of youth.
He also showcased a different charm by performing a demo version of ‘장난 전화’, which has been receiving a great response on the global music platform Spotify. The raw emotion of this stage drew an enthusiastic response from the crowd, offering a different atmosphere from the original track.
After completing the narrative of the show with ‘내 마음의 방패’, ‘불합격’, and ‘택배와 초인종’, Heegyu left a special lingering impression by performing the original version of ‘장난 전화’ during the encore. The impromptu encore, triggered by fan requests, added more meaning to the event, showing the close connection between the artist and his fans.
Heegyu’s first EP ‘Broken Hitchhiking’ is a work that delicately captures the emotions that seep into the repetitions of daily life. Through his clean voice and sincere emotional lines, he explored moments of childhood, love, memories, and romance, leaving a gentle afterglow for listeners.
