Hwanhee from ‘Mr. House Husband’ has embarked on his first-ever mission of filial piety!
In the KBS2 variety show ‘Mr. House Husband Season 2’ aired on the 2nd, Hwanhee shared a heartwarming glimpse into his daily life with his mother.
Hwanhee started his “filial piety project” by attempting to move in with his mother for the third time. While his mother was initially surprised by the sudden visit, she soon smiled thanks to her son’s surprise gifts and sincere gestures.
To celebrate Parents’ Day, Hwanhee challenged himself to make kimchi fried rice. Starting with an online recipe, his clumsy approach—cutting ingredients with scissors and scraping the pan with a spoon—ended with the rice being completely burnt.
Not letting a cooking fail stop him, Hwanhee tried “multi-tasking” by doing the bedding laundry at the same time. However, the day remained challenging as he ended up dripping water everywhere.
Later, Hwanhee carefully suggested a trip to his mother, a small plan prepared for her since she never even had a honeymoon. While visiting a photo studio for passport photos, the two grew closer by taking couple photos together.
Hwanhee shared his complex emotions regarding the passage of time, saying, “My mother was such a beauty. I think she must really miss those days. It hurts my heart to see how quickly time has flown.”
However, the mood shifted unexpectedly. While Hwanhee was away for a moment, his mother asked the photographer for a funeral portrait. Upon finding out, Hwanhee burst into tears, asking, “Suddenly?” turning the studio into a sea of tears.
Seeing her son’s tears for the first time, his mother also became emotional and comforted him, saying, “It’s a path everyone takes.” Realizing the inevitable parting between parents and children, Hwanhee left a deep impression with his resolve, stating, “I don’t want to have regrets in the distant future.”
Meanwhile, Hwanhee will be holding the Hwanhee X Choi Soo-ho national tour concert ‘Fly With’. The tour kicks off at the Gyeonggi Arts Center Grand Theater on May 24-25, followed by the Goyang Aram Nuri Aram Theater on June 13-14, and the Yeungnam University Chunma Arts Center Grand Hall on June 19-20.
