Group I.O.I has unveiled the highlight audio for their new release!
On the 13th, I.O.I shared an audio snippet video via their official SNS channels, giving fans a sneak peek at every track from their third mini album, ‘I.O.I : LOOP’.
The video catches the eye with a projector film frame effect that feels like a collection of memories. This analog visual style, paired with highlights from six different tracks, promises the birth of a well-made masterpiece.
The first track, ‘IOI (Where My Girls At),’ radiates the team’s signature vibrant and refreshing energy. Meanwhile, the title track ‘Suddenly’ uses a delicate synth-pop sound to instantly transport listeners back to brilliant memories.
The album showcases the members’ expanded musical spectrum through a variety of genres. Listeners can look forward to the refreshing sound and upbeat groove of the Afrobeats track ‘SPF 100+ (Summer Pop Fantasy),’ the rock-based track ‘IF I’ which blends a direct band sound with powerful synthesizers, and the ballad ‘Us Then, Us Now,’ featuring warm piano and rich string melodies. Finally, the archive track ‘Goodbye with a Smile (Recorded in 2016),’ featuring the members’ fresh voices from 2016, brings the anticipation for the new album to a peak.
Released after about 9 years, ‘I.O.I : LOOP’ is an album that solidifies the meaning of their 10th anniversary and musical sincerity, with members Jeon Somi, Chungha, and Yoo Yeonjung participating in the lyrics and composition. Specifically, Jeon Somi worked on the first track and the title song, while Yoo Yeonjung and Chungha contributed to ‘IF I’ and ‘Us Then, Us Now,’ respectively, elevating the album’s overall quality. Fans are eagerly waiting to see the synergy of the reunited members.
I.O.I will release their third mini album ‘I.O.I : LOOP’ on May 19th at 6 PM across various online music platforms. Following the release, they will hold a solo concert at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul from the 29th to the 31st, marking the start of their Asia tour and a meaningful reunion with their fans.
