Actress Im Soo-jung shared a touching moment after winning the Best Supporting Actress award in the TV category at the Baeksang Arts Awards.
The 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards with Gucci took place on May 8th at COEX D Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, hosted by Shin Dong-yup, Suzy, and Park Bo-gum.
The nominees for Best Supporting Actress (TV) included Ha Yoon-kyung (‘Undercover Miss Hong’), Im Soo-jung (‘Fine: The Country Bumpkins’), Lee Yi-dam (‘Lady Dua’), Won Mi-kyung (‘Unknown Seoul’), and Myung Se-bin (‘Manager Kim Who Works at a Large Corporation and Lives in a Seoul Home’). The honor ultimately went to Im Soo-jung.
Taking the stage, Im Soo-jung said, “I’m a bit dizzy right now because I didn’t expect to win. Thank you.” She added, “The character I played in ‘Fine: The Country Bumpkins’ was a new challenge for me. I’m grateful to the director who cheered me on, the wonderful actors, and Ryu Seung-ryong for keeping me grounded.”

She then shared her heartache while remembering her mother. Im Soo-jung revealed, “My steps weren’t light today. It has been four months since my mother became a star in the sky.” She confessed, “As time passes, the things I couldn’t say because I was too busy remain in my heart, making the sadness deeper.”
She concluded her speech by saying, “I’ve been spending time feeling as if my world had momentarily stopped, but this award feels like my mom is cheering me on to move forward instead of staying still.”
