Im Won-hee, Kim Jong-min, Jung Gun-ju, and Seo Nam-yong are heading to ‘Salmokji’, a legendary ghost story hotspot that has shaken Korea, for a truly bizarre day.
In the upcoming episode of SBS’s ‘My Little Old Boy’ (Mi-u-sae) airing on the 24th, the four men embark on a spine-chilling exploration of ‘Salmokji’, a real-life location that served as the setting for the all-time top-grossing Korean horror movie.
During a recent recording, Im Won-hee declared his trip to Salmokji to make a desperate wish for love, citing a legend that wishes made at the stone tower come true. However, he admitted he recruited Kim Jong-min, Jung Gun-ju, and Seo Nam-yong as partners because he was too scared to go alone to a place filled with ghost stories, sparking laughter. Watching from the studio, MC Seo Jang-hoon was baffled, asking, “Why on earth would you go to Salmokji to wish for love?” and jokingly suggested, “You might as well meet a virgin ghost and go on a blind date,” causing an explosion of laughter.
Unlike Im Won-hee and Seo Nam-yong, who are typically afraid of ghosts, Kim Jong-min and Jung Gun-ju boasted that they don’t believe in them at all. Yet, as soon as they entered the entrance of Salmokji, they couldn’t hide their tension due to the overwhelming, gloomy atmosphere. To prepare, Im Won-hee brought out several ‘ghost detectors’. Shortly after, upon reaching a specific spot, the detectors simultaneously erupted with mysterious voices, leaving everyone on site completely speechless. Curiosity is further piqued by Im Won-hee’s unexpected behavior by the water, which left the other members in total confusion.
Adding to the tension, a shaman who provided professional consultation for the actual movie ‘Salmokji’ made a surprise visit. The shaman shocked everyone by revealing that the place they were standing was once “a reservoir built over graves” and is currently filled with eerie energy. It was even mentioned that the actual movie filming was conducted elsewhere as much as possible to ensure the safety of the actors and staff.
The shaman’s warnings intensified after witnessing a ‘strange action’ the four men performed unconsciously, strongly warning them to stop immediately as it was “a very dangerous action that provokes ghosts,” leaving the studio frozen in fear. Fans are now curious to see what dangerous behavior left even the shaman horrified.
Amidst the spooky vibes, some unexpected news was shared. When Kim Jong-min wished at the stone tower for a “smart child,” the shaman provided a surprise reading, stating, “Luck for a second generation is coming in earnest from the second half of this year. I even see luck for twins.” Everyone is now eager to find out the full story behind the ‘twin luck’ that made Kim Jong-min cheer.
The story of the four men’s bizarre journey to the sanctuary of ghost stories, Salmokji, will be revealed on ‘My Little Old Boy’ this Sunday, May 24, at 9 PM.
