IU Shares Her Deep Philosophy on Love: “Love Isn’t About Wanting It to Be Recognized”

IU Shares Her Deep Philosophy on Love:

Singer and actress IU recently opened up about her thoughts on love.

On the 12th, a video titled “Tears at the news of this week’s final episode. 21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife behind-the-scenes” was uploaded to the channel ‘Lee Ji-geum (IU Official)’.

In the released video, IU is seen giving a passionate performance as Seong Hee-joo in the MBC drama ’21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife’. She filmed a scene where she asks her father for help after her contract marriage is discovered.

After filming the scene, IU caught everyone’s attention by sharing her own philosophy. She noted, “(Hee-joo) threw away all her pride in the face of love. I hope Grand Prince Lee Wan recognizes this kind of love,” but then added, “Seeing as I want it to be recognized, I guess I don’t love enough yet. Love is not about wanting it to be recognized.”

When the production team asked if this was IU’s philosophy or Hee-joo’s, IU clarified, “It’s my philosophy. Since Hee-joo has never been in love, I don’t think she would have a philosophy like that.”

IU and actor Lee Jong-suk, who were once known as best friends, officially confirmed their relationship in December 2022. The news became a huge topic after Lee Jong-suk gave a heartfelt speech to a special someone while winning the Grand Prize for the drama ‘Big Mouth’ at the ‘2022 MBC Drama Awards’. Since then, the two have remained one of the industry’s most famous star couples, maintaining a quiet relationship with minimal public exposure.
