Singer and actress IU made Children’s Day extra special for some young actors.
On May 4, the mother of child actor An Tae-rin shared a heartwarming story on SNS, stating, “I can’t even fathom how big and generous IU’s heart is. Thank you so much for sending Children’s Day gifts and even a letter.” An Tae-rin appeared as the eldest daughter of Oh Ae-soon (played by IU and Moon So-ri) in the Netflix series ‘When Life Gives You Tangerines’.
Kim Tae-yeon, who played the young Oh Ae-soon in the same project, also posted several photos on SNS with the caption, “Thank you so much, Jieun unnie. I love you.” The photos showed her smiling while holding the gifts and a handwritten letter from IU.
IU didn’t stop there! She also sent a gift to Lee Chun-mu, who played the young Yang Gwan-sik (played by Park Bo-gum and Park Hae-joon). Lee Chun-mu’s mother expressed her gratitude on SNS, saying, “How can a person be like this? Is she an angel or an AI? It’s so surprising and thankful that she remembered Chun-mu.”
Netizens reacted warmly to the news, commenting, “IU always has these heartwarming stories,” “It’s not easy to take the time to write letters, she’s amazing,” “This is a gift the children will remember for a lifetime,” and “That’s so IU.”
Meanwhile, IU is currently meeting viewers through the MBC Friday-Saturday drama ’21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife’.
