On the May 13 broadcast of KBS 1TV’s variety show ‘Hwang Shin-hye’s Let’s Live Together’, Jeon In-hwa appeared and shared some honest stories with Hwang Shin-hye, her friend of 36 years.
Jeon In-hwa caught everyone’s attention by confessing that her mother strongly opposed her marriage to husband Yoo Dong-geun.
She recalled, “My mother went to see a fortune teller, and the reading said that my marriage luck had arrived. From then on, my mother was in a frenzy, checking up on me every single moment. It was right when I was starting my broadcasting career.”
She added with sadness, “Even now that my daughter is over thirty, I think it would be terrible if she thought about doing housework. If I said, ‘I wasn’t in my right mind,’ my husband just stays quiet. Thinking about it now, my mother’s heart must have been broken. If my daughter did that, I think I’d feel betrayed. She should have lived longer. My aunt told me, ‘After you got married, your mother practically wandered the streets.'”
She drew interest by revealing, “My daughter created a cosmetics brand and is doing well, and my son is a singer. He appeared on ‘Superband’, which really surprised Shin-hye unnie.”
Hwang Shin-hye admired, “He sings so well and is so handsome,” while Jeon In-hwa shared, “I didn’t even know he was going on ‘Superband’. It’s a sad reality that if they do well, it’s thanks to the parents, but if they don’t, they are compared to their parents. Now that they are over thirty, they’ve become more resilient.”
Regarding her son’s talent, she added, “I’m tone-deaf. The children’s father has a great voice.”
