Singer Jung Seung Hwan revealed that he frequently sang songs by the band DAY6 during his time in the military band.

Jung Seung Hwan appeared in the second episode of ‘Project PRANK 2’, released on May 26 via the Gong K YouTube channel. Gong K is a personal channel run by DAY6’s vocalist and bassist Young K and the production team.

Following the launch of the first season last October, Young K kicked off Season 2 on May 12. In the first episode of Season 2, he took to the streets wearing a dog costume to attempt busking with YB’s “White Whale,” released in 2011.

The star of the second episode was singer-songwriter Jung Seung Hwan, who rose to fame through SBS’s ‘K-pop Star’ and is often called the “Ballad Crown Prince.” The two, who first met before their enlistment, reunited for the first time in several years after both successfully completing their active duty.

Young K greeted him saying, “It’s been a long time. Was it before we enlisted that we first met?” Jung Seung Hwan smiled and replied, “It has been a very long time. I’ve returned from the military safely.”

Having served in a military band, Jung Seung Hwan shared, “I’ve returned from the military. I sang DAY6 songs really often in the army, though I’m not sure if you know.”

He added, “Wow, DAY6 songs are almost like military anthems. I sang ‘Time of Our Life’ and ‘Welcome to the Show’ so many times.” Young K responded with a big smile, saying, “You worked hard.”

“That’s why I feel a personal closeness,” Jung Seung Hwan said, to which Young K replied, “I feel very close too. As I mentioned before, without any exaggeration, the song I’ve spent the most time practicing in my life is Jung Seung Hwan’s ‘Snowman’.”

Surprised, Jung Seung Hwan said, “Really? You debuted before I did.” Young K explained that he practiced it for a long period after his trainee days, adding, “I never actually finished it completely. That’s why I’ve still never officially sung that song.”

Jung Seung Hwan then recommended that Young K cover his song “Epilogue.” He said, “I have a song called ‘Epilogue’ that I released right before enlisting. No matter how much I think about it, I feel like Young K hyung’s voice would suit this song better.”

He continued, “So, even though it’s my own song, I’ve personally wished to hear a Young K version. I couldn’t just suddenly ask for it since it was just a personal longing.” Young K responded, “I’ll try to… work hard to ‘steal’ it sometime.” Jung Seung Hwan added that it is a song he truly loves.
