Get ready! Channel A’s “Steel Earth” is set to unveil its exciting new episode, “The Unopened Door, Daepaecheomsan,” this Saturday, the 23rd, at 7:10 PM.

Did you know Taiwan boasts an incredible 268 mountains over 3,000m high? Among these majestic peaks, Daepaecheomsan, nestled in the Xueshan Range, is so iconic it even graces Taiwanese banknotes! Indigenous people have revered it as “God’s Mountain” for centuries. Now, the “Steel Expedition Team” members Kang Min-ho and Lee Eojin are heading to conquer this sacred peak.

Their epic journey kicks off in Zhenxibao, an indigenous village perched high in the Xueshan Range. This village is home to the Atayal people, who have a rich history of hunting deer and wild boars. Even today, they proudly display hunting rifles and animal bones in their homes, keeping their traditions alive! As the “Steel Expedition Team” explores, they spot Daepaecheomsan depicted in the village murals, a powerful reminder of the mountain’s significance.

But hold on tight! Before the real climb even begins, unexpected challenges hit. Heavy rain floods the mountain roads, creating an uneasy start. Then, the team hears reports of black bears recently spotted near Daepaecheomsan, ratcheting up the tension! After navigating twists and turns, Min-ho and Eojin finally make it onto the mountain path, pushing through trails damaged by the downpour, all heading for Gugu Cabin. But disaster strikes when Kang Min-ho accidentally drops his backpack off a cliff!

After spending a night at Gugu Cabin, the “Steel Expedition Team” planned an early morning hike. But Mother Nature had other plans! Another torrential downpour strands them at the cabin. There, they meet a fellow hiker who shares a disheartening story: this is their second attempt, and it looks like the weather will prevent them from reaching the summit again. Daepaecheomsan isn’t giving up its secrets easily! Will Kang Min-ho and Lee Eojin finally conquer this challenging peak? Tune in to find out!

“Steel Earth” on Channel A, which tells the incredible stories of people living miraculous lives in tough environments, airs every Saturday at 7:10 PM.
