Former announcer Kim Da-young is once again making headlines as fans revisit the moment she first felt attracted to her husband, Bae Sung-jae, who is 14 years her senior.
During an appearance on the radio show Bae Sung-jae’s Ten (hereafter BaeTen) last May, Kim Da-young was asked what she loved most about her husband. She shared with affection, “He is the funniest person in the world. It feels like I’m listening to BaeTen by my side all day long.” She added, “When it comes to a lifelong partner, being funny is the best. I never get tired of it.”
In response, Bae Sung-jae joked, “She finds my face itself really funny. Actually, the correct answer is that both my body and face are funny,” leaving the studio in bursts of laughter.
The couple also shared a nerve-wracking episode from their secret dating days. Bae Sung-jae recalled, “Early in our relationship, I gave her a card, but she kept it in her phone case and accidentally left it in a women’s restroom.” He continued, “A junior radio PD found the card and handed it over to a BaeTen writer.” Realizing that two “dangerous” people within the company now knew the truth, he confessed that he treated them to top-tier champagne to beg for their silence.
However, Bae Sung-jae added with a laugh, “Despite trying to buy their silence, the rumors started spreading at an incredible speed starting the very next week.”
Meanwhile, Bae Sung-jae (born 1978) and Kim Da-young (born 1992) overcame their 14-year age difference and officially became a married couple after registering their marriage last May.
