Lim Ji-yeon is channeling Kim Du-han in ‘Wonderful New World’!
In the 3rd episode of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama ‘Wonderful New World’ (Directed by Han Tae-seop, Written by Kang Hyun-joo, Produced by Studio S and Gil Pictures), Shin Seo-ri (played by Lim Ji-yeon) began an exciting journey to find her dream of becoming an actress. In particular, Seo-ri caused a lot of laughs when she suddenly performed a “method acting” scene as a Queen after getting fired up by Yoon Ji-hyo’s (played by Lee Se-hee) acting on TV while working part-time at a mart. Her movements, which even knock over thugs twice her size, are an homage to Kim Du-han, who used to clear the streets of thugs. It turns out Seo-ri was so inspired by the drama ‘Rustic Period’ that she performs this action sequence as if she’s possessed by Kim Du-han. Seeing the thugs fall like autumn leaves under her control is expected to provide a thrilling sense of catharsis.
This scene is expected to be a major “killing point,” following the buzz of the ‘Jang Hee-bin possession meme.’ Reports say that during filming, Lim Ji-yeon completely dominated the set with her “possessed” acting and physical commitment. Director Han Tae-seop mentioned, “The scene in episode 4 where Seo-ri is possessed by ‘Rustic Period’s’ Kim Du-han is definitely in the top 3 of Lim Ji-yeon’s comic masterpieces.” All eyes are on episode 4 of ‘Wonderful New World’ for Lim Ji-yeon’s legendary comic performance.
