Coupang Play’s original variety show “Bonjour Bakery” has captured the hearts of viewers with the bakery crew’s growing teamwork and a dazzling parade of desserts inspired by the sunshine of Gochang!

“Bonjour Bakery” is a healing baking show set in Korea’s first “senior dessert cafe” in a quiet rural village. It is a place where seniors who understand the flavors of life and the bakery crew who know the taste of happiness share sweet comfort and warmth.

In Episode 3, released on May 22, we saw a hectic day for the crew on their second day of business. Despite the non-stop orders, the kitchen and hall worked in perfect harmony, showing a total 180-degree turn from their first day!

The upgraded skills of the team were truly impressive. “Chef Cha” Cha Seung-won led the kitchen with lightning-fast movements, whipping up the dessert lineup. Assistant chef Lee Ki-taek stayed on his toes under the hawk-eyed “Chef Cha,” showcasing his precision and evolving into “Delicate-taek.” Their perfect chemistry in the kitchen was just heartwarming to watch.

The hall team brought the energy with their amazing sense and kindness. Owner Kim Hee-ae showed her sweet side by preparing a surprise baked treat for a grandfather visiting alone. Meanwhile, Kim Seon-ho jumped into professional barista mode, creating the “Seon-ho Latte” that nailed both visuals and taste, perfectly playing the role of the mood maker.

The highlight of Episode 3 was definitely the gorgeous dessert lineup! Local Gochang specialties brought in by Kim Seon-ho and Lee Ki-taek were transformed into fantastic French desserts by Cha Seung-won’s precise touch. The menu featured everything from fresh “Bonjour Strawberry and Blueberry Eclairs” to “Bonjour Bokbunja Madeleines and Green Barley Brioche,” and “Chef Cha’s” masterpiece, the “Bonjour Camellia Tart.” These special treats, blending familiar local ingredients with French flair, instantly won over the senior guests.

Sweet desserts also sparked sincere stories. From a grandfather visiting a cafe for the first time to share a vanilla latte and make memories with his granddaughters, to a daughter’s warmth in bringing her father’s friends, the scenes filled with local neighbors were truly touching. Moving past the rookie stage, “Bonjour Bakery” is now capturing taste, style, and deep emotion, creating a warm connection across generations.
