Kim Hee-ae Shares “Special Praise” for Kim Seon-ho as He Gets Emotional at ‘Bonjour Bakery’ Press Conference

‘Bonjour Bakery’ is a heartwarming variety show where the cast runs a “senior dessert cafe” in a quiet rural village to share warmth with local elders. The show features Kim Seon-ho, Kim Hee-ae, Cha Seung-won, and Lee Ki-taek.

At the press conference held on the 6th at Community Masil in Seoul, all eyes were naturally on Kim Seon-ho, marking his first official public appearance following personal controversies. Kim Seon-ho recently resolved tax issues that stemmed from administrative negligence. Appearing in a black suit that contrasted with his fair skin, he greeted the enthusiastic press with his signature dimple smile.

While he maintained a bright expression throughout the event, there was a moment when Kim Seon-ho suddenly teared up. The trigger was when writer Kim Ran-ju, who planned the program, mentioned his father who passed away two years ago.

Kim Seon-ho will serve as a barista at the “senior cafe,” which is the heart of ‘Bonjour Bakery’ and the driving force of its narrative, where he is expected to be the darling of the local elders. He expressed a strong desire to bring “happiness and healing” to the seniors, noting that he actually felt like the one who received healing.

‘Bonjour Bakery’ is also drawing attention as the first project where Kim Hee-ae and Kim Seon-ho, who have previously shown an unexpected friendship on social media, work together. Kim Hee-ae previously made headlines by giving him “special praise” after watching his play in March, stating she could feel his “intense passion and inner strength.”

Serving as the CEO and hall manager, Kim Hee-ae explained the purpose of the show, saying, “Korean desserts are very famous, but many seem to be tailored to the tastes of young people. I wanted to bring joy to the elders in rural areas, where bakery infrastructure is lacking, especially to those who have raised their children so wonderfully.”

She also praised Cha Seung-won, who was in charge of baking at ‘Bonjour Bakery’, for his hard work. She sparked laughter by saying, “Making a single loaf of bread is so difficult, but they were so delicious that I found myself eating them while walking on eggshells around Cha Seung-won.”
