Kim Hyo-jin confessed that she unintentionally lied to her daughter about her age.
In the 43rd episode of tvN STORY’s ‘Namgyeoseo Mwohage’ aired on May 18, comedian Seo Kyung-seok appeared and invited his close junior colleague, comedian Kim Hyo-jin.
Kim Hyo-jin revealed that her second daughter, conceived naturally when she was 45, is now 6 years old, while her first daughter is in her second year of middle school, creating an 8-year age gap. She mentioned that the pregnancies weren’t planned, saying, “To be honest, neither was planned. I’m just so grateful that these lives came to me naturally.”
She continued, “Since I was already 45, I didn’t even think about having a second child. I thought I’d just live happily with my first. It happened so suddenly. I was happy but very flustered. Now, I’m truly grateful. She’s so lovely that I can’t imagine what I would have done if I hadn’t had her.”
When Pak Se-ri mentioned it must be hard to start all over again after raising one child, Kim Hyo-jin shared, “I had a surgical birth, and the recovery period was very slow. Raising a newborn before I had fully recovered was physically exhausting. Caring for her day and night without sleep was killing me. When raising my second, if the baby cried, I cried right along with her, saying, ‘I’m so tired!'”
She also added, “Since she’s 6, she wants to play actively, but my stamina is… I feel bad that I can’t play with her energetically. I feel so sorry for my daughter.” She then shared a funny story: “My daughter suddenly asked, ‘Mom, how old are you?’ I couldn’t bring myself to say I’m 50. So I asked, ‘How old do I look?’ and she said, ’20!’ So I just said, ‘That’s right.’ My daughter actually thinks I’m 20!”
When Seo Kyung-seok joked, “This is wrong home education,” Kim Hyo-jin replied, “She’ll find out eventually. I want to stay healthy and strong until my daughter gets married and has her own children, but I wonder if I can. I’ve been emotional calculating my age since I was pregnant.” Seo Kyung-seok comforted her, saying, “You don’t need to worry about that. You look like you’re in your early 30s.”
