Kim Jong Kook created a heartwarming scene by going on a gift shopping spree for his wife and mother during his trip to Japan.
On the 12th, SBS Plus’s ‘The Manly Way to Travel in Kyushu’ revealed Kim Jong Kook’s intense shopping spree in Tenmonkan, Kagoshima’s largest downtown area in Japan.
That day, Kim Jong Kook visited a coffee shop in a shopping district with Choo Sung Hoon. After ordering coffee, he browsed the cups and remarked, “These are things you can only buy in Japan, so I feel like I should get them as gifts,” before diving into gift selection.
When Choo Sung Hoon and the production team showed interest, Kim Jong Kook shyly responded, “I’m just going to put them at home.” The PD then teased him, saying, “A manly man is a romantic!” to which Kim Jong Kook, looking embarrassed, retorted, “What do you mean romantic?” sparking laughter.
After careful deliberation, Kim Jong Kook purchased two mugs and then headed to find sleep masks for his mother. From the very first day of the trip, he had been on the hunt for gifts for his mom, declaring, “I absolutely have to buy these before we go back to Korea!” As soon as he spotted the sleep masks, he immediately swept them into his shopping cart.
Kim Jong Kook explained, “My mother sleeps so well with these. They’re so good, but she finds them too precious to use. Still, Japan is a bit cheaper, so I have to stock up while I’m here!” Choo Sung Hoon, seeing the shopping cart overflowing with sleep masks, was utterly surprised, exclaiming, “She’ll be set for a whole year!”
