“Dokbak Tour” is coming back refreshed! After a two-week break for reorganization, Season 5 will officially launch this June.
Mark your calendars! “Dokbak Tour” Season 5 is set to premiere on June 6 at 9 PM. This season is especially exciting as it is a joint production between Channel S and Tcast E Channel, meaning it will reach even more viewers. Plus, the show’s subtitle has changed from “Ni-don-nae-san Dokbak Tour” to “Going to the End! Dokbak Tour,” raising expectations for what is to come.
The production team shared, “We chose the subtitle ‘Going to the End’ to more intensely showcase the primal fun of ‘dokbak,’ where one person ends up footing the entire travel bill through games. It reflects our determination to maximize the members’ survival instincts and their hilarious real-life friendship, while upgrading the travel scale, game intensity, and overall variety show tension.”
They added, “The title ‘Going to the End’ also means we will expand beyond familiar destinations to remote and unknown locations, literally showing a journey that ‘goes to the end.’ Accordingly, we plan to further expand the reality and the cast’s universe. To maximize the realism, we have significantly increased the amount of improvised local visits. We will use minimal filming equipment and self-cameras to capture a raw, authentic travel vibe.”
Furthermore, the show aims to diversify its narrative and fun by bringing in “travel friend” guests tailored to the destination, as well as family and acquaintances of the “Dokbak-z,” expanding the ruthless yet tight-knit world of the “dokbak spirit.”
Meanwhile, the production team has released the official poster for “Going to the End! Dokbak Tour.” The poster features the phrase “Yesterday’s best friends, today’s enemies,” teasing a blood-splattered “Dokbak War” where no mercy is shown.
The “Dokbak-z” are seen sporting “safari looks” surrounded by wild animals like elephants, leopards, and peacocks, giving off strong “remote exploration” vibes. In fact, the “Dokbak-z” have chosen Sri Lanka as their first destination. As a country from a cultural sphere never before covered on “Dokbak Tour,” Sri Lanka, known as the “Jewel of the Indian Ocean,” boasts stunning nature and the charm of its gentle people, promising a powerful start to Season 5.
