Kim Jun-hyun Reveals He's Funding Amutda Band Out of Pocket! Here's How They Handle Profits

Hong Kyung-min and Kim Jun-hyun got real about the operating costs and profits of Amutda Band on ‘Radio Show’.

During the May 4th broadcast of KBS Cool FM ‘Park Myung-soo’s Radio Show’, Hong Kyung-min and Kim Jun-hyun appeared to chat about Amutda Band.

When Park Myung-soo asked about profit distribution, Kim Jun-hyun honestly replied, “We haven’t made any profit yet, so there’s nothing to distribute,” which sparked laughter. Hong Kyung-min added, “We’ll split it once money actually comes in. It’ll be an equal split.”

Kim Jun-hyun added, “I’m currently using my own money to keep it going. Most of it goes toward team dinners.” Hong Kyung-min agreed, saying, “Eating costs a lot. This radio show is the only thing we’ve done without spending our own money.”

When asked if anyone tries to avoid paying, Kim Jun-hyun bragged about the band’s warm atmosphere, saying, “It’s a beautiful band because we all try to pay for the food.”

He also playfully mentioned the kindness of second keyboardist Jo Young-soo, saying, “Jo Young-soo pays the most. He’s chubby but quick to pay the bill before anyone else.”

The broadcast also touched upon the activities of Amutda Band.

Kim Jun-hyun explained that Amutda Band stands for a “band that doesn’t ask or question anything.”

In response to Park Myung-soo’s question about the instruments, Hong Kyung-min introduced the lineup: “Jun-hyun is on drums, and I play the bass.” He added, “Cha Tae-hyun handles the vocals. We each sing a line or two, but Cha Tae-hyun is the main vocalist.”

Hong Kyung-min shared the behind-the-scenes story of the band’s formation, saying, “Things got bigger than we expected. Kim Jun-hyun suggested it first because music is the way we want to express ourselves before it’s too late.” He laughed, adding, “We were just trying to start a hobby club, but it grew into this.”

Meanwhile, ‘Park Myung-soo’s Radio Show’ airs daily at 11 AM.
