Kim Soo Hyun Finally Cleared of False Accusations: “Thank You for Believing in Me!”

On May 27, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, Goldmedalist, released an official statement regarding the arrest of Kim Se-ui, the head of Garo Sero Institute, on May 26, and the clearing of the suspicions surrounding the actor.

The agency stated, “Regarding the various lawsuits and complaints filed by Kim Soo Hyun and our agency against Kim Se-ui of Garo Sero Institute, the investigation has confirmed that the various suspicions and evidence raised against Kim Soo Hyun are not true.” They added, “In particular, it was revealed that the KakaoTalk conversations of the deceased, which were disclosed during a press conference, were forged conversations between other individuals unrelated to Kim Soo Hyun, and the voice of the deceased was also confirmed to be manipulated material created using AI technology.”

They continued, “The court issued an arrest warrant for Kim Se-ui as the severity of the case was recognized, including charges of violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (defamation by stating false facts), violation of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Stalking Crimes, violation of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes (distribution of recordings using cameras, etc., and coercion using recordings), and intimidation. We are deeply grateful for the efforts of the investigative agencies to uncover the truth based on objective evidence.” The agency further explained, “A year ago at a press conference, Kim Soo Hyun promised, ‘I won’t ask you to believe me. I will make sure to prove it.’ The past year for Kim Soo Hyun was a time dedicated solely to keeping that promise. Finally, the truth has been proven through the legal process and a thorough investigation.”

Finally, the agency announced Kim Soo Hyun’s return, stating, “We are deeply grateful to everyone who has believed in and waited for Kim Soo Hyun.”

Even after the arrest warrant hearing, Kim Se-ui continued to deny the charges, stating, “I do not admit to any of the charges.”

Kim Se-ui is accused of spreading recordings and claims that Kim Soo Hyun dated the late actress Kim Sae Ron while she was a minor, and that pressure from Kim Soo Hyun’s side to repay debts was the direct cause of her death. He is also accused of defaming Kim Soo Hyun by fabricating false facts using AI to manipulate the late Kim Sae Ron’s voice. Investigative agencies believe that the KakaoTalk conversations presented by Kim Se-ui during a press conference around March last year, claiming a relationship between Kim Soo Hyun and the late Kim Sae Ron, were also forged.
