K-beauty icon Jung Saem Mool recently shared her close bond with actress Kim Tae Hee.
On the May 2nd episode of MBC’s “Omniscient Interfering View,” viewers got a glimpse into the surprising daily life of legendary makeup artist Jung Saem Mool, whose business has reached an impressive 135 billion won in annual sales.
Jung Saem Mool headed out to meet her long-time bestie, Kim Tae Hee. Even her manager couldn’t hide the excitement, admitting, “I see a lot of celebrities, but I’m really excited to see her today!”
The manager recalled a time in Singapore when they visited Kim Tae Hee’s home unexpectedly. Even without a drop of makeup, Kim Tae Hee reportedly radiated a stunning aura. Jung Saem Mool agreed, noting she felt the exact same way when she first met the actress.
Kim Tae Hee then made an appearance in a chic pink set-up, proving her timeless beauty. Her legendary “goddess visuals” left the studio panel completely starstruck.
Jung Saem Mool revealed a special detail about their bond, saying, “I’ve met many stars, but you were the first and only one I actively approached to work with.” Kim Tae Hee recalled their meeting 25 years ago, when she was just a college student working part-time as a magazine model.
While sharing a meal, the two bonded over their love for food. Jung Saem Mool joked, “We were both so serious about eating,” to which Kim Tae Hee replied, “I have to eat to be able to film!”
Jung Saem Mool also shared a heartwarming story, praising Kim Tae Hee for always thoughtfully taking care of the staff’s meals, making every set she worked on a wonderful environment.
Kim Tae Hee also opened up about her home life. She mentioned that since Korean food doesn’t always sit well with her in the morning, she opts for fruit, bread, and eggs, often preparing morning rolls or toast for her children. She also shared a practical tip, saying she makes her own salads and keeps them in vacuum containers to stay fresh for a week.
When Jung Saem Mool jokingly asked if she had become the “queen of housekeeping,” Kim Tae Hee humbly laughed it off, saying she’s just “serious about eating.”
