Kim Yun-seok and Kim Seon-ho are joining forces for the new drama ‘The Assemblyman Protects Us’!
Scheduled for tvN, ‘The Assemblyman Protects Us’ (written by Kwon Jong-kwan, directed by Park Shin-woo) is expected to deliver fresh fun and catharsis through the “different dreams” of two men racing toward the heart of politics to reset their lives.
The series promises high quality with director Park Shin-woo, known for his delicate and sensory direction in ‘It’s Okay to Not Be Okay’ and the Baeksang Arts Awards-winning ‘Unknown Seoul,’ and writer Kwon Jong-kwan, who penned ‘Price of Confession.’
The casting is already drawing huge attention for its potential to maximize genre pleasure. The meeting of Kim Yun-seok, a “dead power-player” who poured his life into politics, and Kim Seon-ho, a “living youth” indifferent to politics, promises a strange and exciting buddy dynamic.
Kim Yun-seok will play Gu Young-jin, a “max-level” politician who returns as a ghost seeking revenge. A six-term assemblyman, he believes politics is about calculation and design rather than common sense and belief. After dying due to a corruption scandal, he returns to the past as a ghost and teams up with Cha Jae-rim to reclaim the center of power. Fans are eager to see how Kim Yun-seok, known for his deep acting skills, will bring the ghostly politician Gu Young-jin to life.
