In an interview following his pictorial shoot, Koo Sung-hwan shared his love for acting and photography. With a smile, he noted, “Unlike acting, having to express everything while staying still isn’t easy, but the process itself is fun.”
Known as someone who truly lives in the moment, he chose “romance” as the keyword that defines his life. He believes it’s important to live each day with joy, sharing that the early loss of his mother taught him how precious every single day is.

Regarding the massive attention he’s received from variety shows lately, he showed a professional mindset. “I want to clearly distinguish between variety and acting,” Koo Sung-hwan explained, staying focused on his main career. “If I’m seen only as a variety star, it could be a nuisance to the colleagues I work with on projects.”
His passion for acting remains strong. He expressed a desire to challenge himself with “Janus-like” characters who lead a story through just their lines or a single glance. He also keeps the words of actor Song Kang-ho, who once told him, “I knew you would become a good actor,” close to his heart and looks forward to the day they can work together again.

“Happiness isn’t as grand as we think,” Koo Sung-hwan shared warmly. “I think happiness is found in the little things, like a delicious dinner after work or a home where you can sleep comfortably. Many people ask me about happiness, but I hope they don’t overthink it and instead find joy in the small things and live with gratitude.”
In February, Koo Sung-hwan touched many hearts when he shared the news of saying goodbye to his longtime companion, his dog Kkot-bun-i. He had previously gained a lot of love for showing his simple and peaceful daily life with Kkot-bun-i on the MBC variety show “I Live Alone.”
