On the 10th, Lee Hyori appeared in a video titled “Not Hyori, but Ananda. What’s on the minds of yoga teachers” on her YouTube channel ‘ah yoga’, where she chatted with her fellow instructors.
Talking about her studio being open for over half a year, Lee Hyori shared, “Many people who have been with us since September come for the dawn classes. They are truly hardworking and put in so much effort to register. I’m starting to get a feel for which direction to lead the members’ practice.” She added, “Morning classes are still over 70% one-day trials.”
When asked about the different styles between dawn and morning classes, she explained, “It varies depending on the weather, the atmosphere, and who is attending. I think I teach by responding to the energy and vibe. I don’t think I’ve ever given the exact same class twice. For example, I change my teaching style when a newcomer joins.”
Lee Hyori also shared her thoughts on ‘hands-on’ corrections, which most members desire. While mentioning the struggle of timing, saying, “Hands-on happens in an instant, so you have to run over quickly,” she noted, “There are moments when hands-on is helpful, but there are times when trying it on your own without help is more important. It’s just like every aspect of social life.”

She emphasized, “In the end, I feel like I’ve been able to keep my life safe and trouble-free.” She added, “I’m a person with overflowing energy, so if I hadn’t done yoga, where would I have used it? The fact that I’ve lived a simple, good life through yoga is what remains, and I’ve become more at peace.”
Her fellow instructors agreed, noting that “the dopamine from the outside world is so strong that yoga can’t keep up.” Lee Hyori laughed, saying, “I’m glad I fell into a healthy addiction so I couldn’t fall into other addictions.”
She expressed pride, calling yoga “a tool that made me feel proud of myself.” She shared that it boosted her self-esteem, making her realize, “Lee Hyori, you had such a persistent side? You had the consistency to keep moving forward even when no one was watching.”
Meanwhile, Lee Hyori opened her yoga studio in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul last September and is personally conducting classes.
